Another Blow to The OPA

Recently the Office of Property Assessment was dealt yet another blow for 2019, this time for the faulty way they assessed the land of each individual condo units  assessed the land value of a Condos at 1706 Rittenhouse Square Building.

In essence, the City, specifically OPA, assessed the land by using a fixed percentage of an individual units total value as the land value, creating a severe over assessment.  In fact, when adding each condo’s land assessment up, you’re left with a value over $40 million an acre, grossly disproportionate and resulting in excessive over-taxing.

The City now will have to refund thousands and thousands of dollars to each condo owner.  If you have an issue with either how your property or land is being assessed and as a result, escrowed/taxed, please call the Law Offices of Christopher W. Dean for a free consultation. As a reminder, 2020 Market Value Appeals are due the first week of October.
